Crown Prince - FAQs

What is Crown Prince about?

Crown Prince follows Timur, a debt-ridden travelling repairman who is recruited by a fading bus station patriarch to impersonate his son Zafer. Thrust into a world of family power struggles and hidden agendas, Timur must also pose as the husband of Zafer's wife Reyhan — until pretence quietly becomes something far more real.

Who plays Timur in Crown Prince?

Akin Akinözü plays Timur Aslan, the charismatic drifter at the heart of the story. Akinözü is widely recognised across the Turkish drama landscape and brings considerable screen presence to the role, making Timur's gradual transformation from reluctant impostor to devoted protector one of the series' most compelling threads.

Where can you stream Crown Prince?

Crown Prince airs on Show TV in Turkey. For international streaming availability and viewing options in your region, JustWatch is the most reliable place to check current platforms carrying the series, as availability can vary by country and may expand as the show gains wider distribution.

Is Crown Prince based on a true story?

Crown Prince is an original fictional drama, not based on any true story or real events. Created by Tunahan Kurt, the series draws on classic Turkish melodrama traditions — identity deception, family loyalty, and forbidden romance — to craft a story that feels emotionally grounded even as its premise is entirely invented.

How many episodes does Crown Prince have?

Season 1 of Crown Prince consists of 26 episodes. The series premiered in 2025 on Show TV and is currently listed as a returning series, meaning additional seasons or episodes beyond the current run may follow depending on ratings and network decisions.

Who created Crown Prince and who wrote the series?

Crown Prince was created by Tunahan Kurt, who also shares writing duties alongside Berrin Tekdemir and Necip Güleçer. The collaborative writing team brings together experience in Turkish primetime drama, helping shape the show's layered family dynamics, romantic tension, and the slow unravelling of Timur's carefully constructed double life.

What is the dynamic between Timur and Reyhan in Crown Prince?

Timur and Reyhan begin their relationship as two people trapped in a lie — forced to play husband and wife while both know the truth. Their bond is one of the series' emotional cores, as shared captivity inside the Karslı Mansion gradually strips away the performance and leaves something unexpectedly genuine in its place.

What shows are similar to Crown Prince?

Fans of Crown Prince will likely enjoy Hercai (2019) and Endless Love (2015) for their sweeping Turkish romantic drama, or Boundless Love (2023) and Wild Heart (2023) for similarly intense family-driven storylines. Blood Flowers (2022) and Sen Anlat Karadeniz (2018) are also strong picks for viewers drawn to emotionally charged Turkish series.
