Wrecked - FAQs

Is Wrecked a parody of the show Lost?

Very much so. Wrecked was conceived as a loving spoof of Lost, leaning into the absurdity of plane crash survivors stranded on a mysterious island. The show gleefully lampoons survival drama tropes — secret agendas, power struggles, and island mysteries — while playing everything for laughs rather than suspense.

Who are the main characters in Wrecked?

The ensemble cast includes Zach Cregger as Owen, Brian Sacca as the scheming Danny, Jessica Lowe as Florence, Asif Ali as Pack, Will Greenberg as Todd, Rhys Darby as the eccentric Steve, Ally Maki as Jess, Brooke Dillman as Karen, George Basil as Chet, and Will McLaughlin as Bruce.

Where can you stream or watch Wrecked?

Wrecked is currently available to buy on Amazon Video. Streaming availability may vary by region, so it’s worth checking your local platforms for updated options. The series originally aired on TBS and ran for three complete seasons between 2016 and 2018.

Why did Wrecked end after three seasons?

TBS cancelled Wrecked after its third season in 2018, concluding the series with 30 episodes across three even runs of ten episodes each. While the show maintained a devoted cult following, ratings declined over time, which is the most commonly cited reason for the network’s decision not to renew it.

Is Wrecked worth watching for comedy fans?

If you enjoy absurdist ensemble comedies and survival show parodies, Wrecked delivers consistent laughs. Its single-camera format, sharp character dynamics, and gleeful skewering of island-drama clichés make it a breezy, entertaining watch. Each episode runs around 22 minutes, making it easy to binge across all three seasons.

How many seasons and episodes does Wrecked have?

Wrecked ran for three seasons with ten episodes each, totalling 30 episodes. Season 1 premiered on June 14, 2016, and the series concluded with Season 3 in 2018. The consistent episode count per season gives the show a tight, well-paced structure throughout its entire run.

Who created the TBS comedy series Wrecked?

Wrecked was created by brothers Jordan Shipley and Justin Shipley, who also served as executive producers on the series. The Shipleys developed the concept as a comedic riff on prestige survival dramas, bringing the show to TBS where it aired from 2016 to 2018.

What shows are similar to Wrecked?

Fans of Wrecked often enjoy Lost (2004) for the serious island-drama it parodies, Gilligan’s Island (1964) as a classic stranded-on-an-island comedy, and Siberia (2013) for its darkly comedic survival premise. Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace (2004) also shares Wrecked’s sharp genre-spoofing sensibility.
