Where can you stream Inglourious Basterds online?
Inglourious Basterds is available to stream on AMC+ (via Apple TV Channel and Amazon Channel), Philo, and YouTube TV. It can also be rented or purchased on Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, Google Play Movies, YouTube, Fandango At Home, and Plex.
Is Inglourious Basterds based on a true story?
Inglourious Basterds is not based on a true story. It is an alternate-history fiction by Quentin Tarantino. While set against the real backdrop of Nazi-occupied France during World War II, the characters, plot, and especially the climactic ending are entirely invented and deliberately rewrite historical events.
What is the ending of Inglourious Basterds explained?
In the film's alternate-history climax, Shosanna locks Nazi leadership inside her Paris cinema and sets it ablaze, while the Basterds simultaneously assassinate Hitler and his officers inside. Both plans converge, resulting in Hitler's death — a deliberate, cathartic rewriting of history that is central to Tarantino's vision.
Who are the main actors in Inglourious Basterds?
The film stars Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine, Christoph Waltz as Col. Hans Landa, and Mélanie Laurent as Shosanna. The ensemble also includes Michael Fassbender, Diane Kruger, Eli Roth, Daniel Brühl, Til Schweiger, Gedeon Burkhard, and Jacky Ido.
Did Inglourious Basterds win any major awards?
Yes. Christoph Waltz won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Col. Hans Landa, widely considered one of cinema's great villain performances. The film received eight Oscar nominations in total, including Best Picture and Best Director for Quentin Tarantino.
What is the age rating for Inglourious Basterds?
Inglourious Basterds is rated R in the United States for strong graphic violence, language, and brief sexuality. In other territories it carries equivalent adult ratings: 18 in the UK, 16 in Germany, MA 15+ in Australia, and 18A in Canada.
How long is Inglourious Basterds?
Inglourious Basterds has a runtime of 2 hours and 33 minutes (153 minutes). The film is structured in five chapters, each functioning almost as a self-contained short story, which contributes to its substantial but deliberately paced length.
How was Inglourious Basterds received by critics?
