Kamen Rider 555: Hyper Battle Video - FAQs
What is Kamen Rider 555: Hyper Battle Video about?
It's a short, wildly fun tokusatsu film where Smart Brain hatches a musical plot to reclaim the three Rider Belts. A rapping Smart Lady triggers spontaneous singing across Japan, pulling Takumi, Mari, Keitaro, and the Orphnoch trio into an unexpected song-and-dance showdown.
Why does everyone suddenly start singing in the film?
Smart Brain distributes a mysterious boom box that compels people to break into musical numbers. It's all a scheme by the villainous corporation: get the heroes singing and distracted long enough to recover the three Rider Belts. Smart Lady even delivers her evil briefing as a rap.
Is this a standalone film or part of a series?
It's a Hyper Battle Video — a short supplementary release tied to the Kamen Rider 555 (Faiz) TV series. These videos were sold alongside toy products and offered fun, non-canon side stories featuring the main cast. You'll enjoy it most if you're already familiar with the series.
Who are the main cast members in this film?
The main cast reprises their TV roles: Kento Handa as Takumi Inui, Yuria Haga as Mari Sonoda, Ken Mizorogi as Keitaro Kikuchi, Masayuki Izumi as Yuji Kiba, Yoshika Gaja as Yuka Osada, Mitsuru Karahashi as Naoya Kaido, and Hitomi Kurihara as Smart Lady.
What makes this Hyper Battle Video unique among similar releases?
Its full-on musical format sets it apart. Rather than a straightforward action showcase, the film leans into comedy and song, with Smart Lady rapping her villain monologue and the heroes getting swept into choreographed numbers. It's a genuinely playful, self-aware take on the Kamen Rider formula.
Who directed and wrote Kamen Rider 555: Hyper Battle Video?
Hidenori Ishida directed the film, while the screenplay was penned by Toshiki Inoue — the prolific tokusatsu writer behind the main Kamen Rider 555 TV series. Inoue is well known for his sharp, often darkly dramatic storytelling, making this lighthearted musical outing a fun departure from his usual style.
How long is Kamen Rider 555: Hyper Battle Video?
It runs just 11 minutes — a quick, breezy watch by design. Hyper Battle Videos were always short-form releases meant to complement the main series rather than replace it, so this one packs its musical chaos into a tight, entertaining runtime.

For the musical angle, Tokyo Tribe offers a wild live-action rap-battle energy that shares some of this film's playful chaos.
