Japanese film director, screenwriter, CM director, and video creator, Yuji Dan has built a distinguished career spanning several decades within the Japanese film industry. He holds membership in the Film Directors Guild of Japan, reflecting his standing as a respected professional within the craft.
Dan graduated from Musashino Art University in 1975. Following his graduation, he embarked on a career as a freelance film assistant director, collaborating with prominent figures including Mamoru Watanabe, Shinya Yamamoto, and Genji Nakamura. He subsequently expanded his professional scope into commercial filmmaking. In 1985, his screenplay titled "Assistant Director" earned him selection for the prestigious 11th Kido Prize, a recognition that underscored his talents as a writer and storyteller.
Beyond his work in film and commercial production, Dan has contributed to film education as a part-time lecturer at both Toho Gakuen Film College and Toho Gakuen College, sharing his expertise and experience with the next generation of filmmakers.
